About the Artist

Photos-La-Vie is an online gallery whose sole purpose is to share art and to enter into a visual dialogue with visitors and other artists.

After a long career in opera production, I am happy to be making my own art again. My studies have earned me a BFA in painting from Wright State University, an MA in fine arts from Purdue University, and an MS in scenic design from Indiana University, although I am currently working in photography and sculpture. All of my photos are taken with phone cameras and none of my finished photos have photoshopped additions or elements. It is vital to me that everything, outside of basic editing, remain true to the moment.

My inspiration comes from reframing shared experiences as moments of performance and art. Fundamental human perspectives shape how we process these moments, even if through different lenses, and connect us and make us recognizable to each other. Connecting with these shared experiences is what my art is about and is what bonds me to every person I meet. I want viewers to see themselves in my work and to realize that, on some level, they have already seen what I am presenting. It’s all there, it has always been there, you just have to see it.
